Since late July, heavy monsoon rains have triggered flash floods and river flooding in Pakistan, affecting millions of people. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, to assist those affected by this disaster.
Your gift to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief efforts to help those affected by this disaster. Assistance provided by the American Red Cross may include sending relief supplies, mobilizing relief workers and providing financial resources. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

NetIP STL is joining hands with KETC-Channel 9 on KETC’s project entitled Homeland.
Homeland explores the role of immigration in our society and the common bonds of all people. With Homeland KETC hopes to shine a light on the complexity of issues faced both by immigrants and those who are already living here. They are exploring how immigrants are changing the makeup of the region and what this means for creating a new sense of community and country.
To accomplish this work, KETC is enlisting NetIP STL members who would be willing to use Flip video cameras to discuss some of the resonant themes identified surrounding the topic of immigration in Missouri.
They will check out a camera to you, provide you training, and discuss possible questions/topics for you to address on-camera.

This event is open to any legal permanent resident who plans to become a US citizen who has been here at least 6 months or already has a green card. Much of the information will be provided by representatives from the St. Louis USCIS Naturalization Services office with the help interpreters and translated written information.

We provide free blood tests and attempt to increase health awareness in the community. It is a well attended event. Last year we had about 200 attendees.

Giving Back on Gandhi National Service Day
Come out and volunteer with us to do a Room Makeover at one of St. Louis' Homeless Shelters.
When:Saturday, October 4 - 9:00am-12:00pm

We have been asked to paint, clean, and decorate one of the 20 rooms at Gateway Homeless Services, which is a homeless shelter that provides a safe, secure, nurturing emergency shelter to homeless women, children, and families in need. Their goal is to re-house individuals as quickly as possible, so they can get back on their feet. We will be responsible for making one of the rooms feel warm and welcoming by:
-Cleaning the room
-Painting the room with bright colors
-Decorating the room by putting new linens on the bed, hanging drapes, hanging pictures, etc.
Also, if you have items such as picture frames, trinkets, baskets, etc. sitting around your house that you would like to donate, the shelter is happy to take them to use for room decor. Please bring these items with you the day of the project!
Lunch: Will be provided after the project by NETIP

Giving Back - Health Fair Volunteers Needed
Are you an Internal Medicine Doctor, Dentist, or an IT person? If so, would you consider volunteering your time and skills on May 3rd from 9am-2pm for a Free Community Health Fair (at the Hindu Temple), organized by the Indian Medical Council of St. Louis, the Ghandi Center, and the Hindu Temple?
The Health Fair is looking for the remaining volunteers:
- 4 Internal Medicine Doctors
- 2 Dentists
- 4 IT People
Martin Luther King Dream Keeper's Fair
NetIP'S Giving Back...
We are looking for NetIP members to volunteer on Saturday, April 19, 2008 for the Martin Luther King Dream Keeper's Fair. This is an inspiring event intended to bring people of all races and cultures together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. We are looking for volunteers to do the following:
- Greet People upon entrance to the event
- Survey attendees about the event during the day
- Staff an information table (free water will be available here, give out information on bathroom locations,etc.)
The times we will need volunteers are between a 10am-2pm time slot and 2-6pm time slot. More detailed information will be forthcoming upon sign-up for each position. To find out more about the event please visit www.stldreamkeepers.org.
